🎨 Artwork and File Guidelines

Uploading your own artwork? Here’s everything you need to know to get the best results—whether you're printing on t-shirts, hats, bags, aprons, jackets, polos, or blankets.

✅ Accepted File Types

You can upload these formats directly in the Design Studio:

• Best choice for printing:
  .AI, .EPS, or .PDF (vector-based)
• High-res image files also accepted:
  .PNG, .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, .TIFF, .SVG

Tip: Vector files are preferred for crisp printing.

🧼 Can Backgrounds Be Removed?

Yes! If your image has a white or solid background that you want removed, simply click “Notes 4 Bolt” in the Design Studio and request background removal.

Our production artists will clean it up before printing—and we’ll send you a proof for approval.

🔍 Recommended Resolution

For the best print results:

• Use files at 150 DPI (dots per inch)
• Design should be sized close to print size (e.g., 10–12" wide for the front of a t-shirt)

If you’re not sure your artwork is print-ready, upload it anyway—we’ll review it before production and follow up if needed.

📦 Max File Size

• Files up to 5MB can be uploaded in the Design Studio.
• Larger files? Contact us at [email protected], and we’ll help you send them another way.

🧵 Embroidery Guidelines

Embroidery requires a different approach than printing:

• Simple, bold designs work best
• Avoid tiny text or fine gradients
• Line art and minimal colors are ideal
• PNG, JPEG or .EPS are fine

Our team will digitize your artwork for embroidery and send you a proof before production.

❓Need Help Using the Design Studio?

Here are answers to common questions about building your design online:

✏️ How do I add text or clip art?

You can use the Design Studio to add text, choose fonts, align placement, and pick from a library of clip art. You can also upload your own artwork.

🎨 Can I change the product or color?

Yes! Click Change Product Color or Change Style at the top of the Design Studio to try out different products or garment colors.

💾 How do I save my design?

Use the Save 4 Later button to save your work. You can email yourself a link or access it again by entering the same email later.
